Dealership woes with Voltec guarantee and transmission / powertrain situation

2018 Chevrolet Volt (~65k miles)

Fault codes:

POAC4 – Powertrain
POC04 – Powertrain

From OnStar:
electrical drive unit 13_25

Dropped off at supplier on 08/15/22. Took 15 days for them to inform me the 12v battery was dangerous and that no additional diagnostics could possibly be carried out till I agreed to purchase a brand new 12v battery. I examined this battery myself earlier than dropping it off and advised them as a lot. I reluctantly agreed to a brand new battery hoping they might discover the true perpetrator. A pair days later they are saying it’s mounted, however all they did was substitute the nice 12v battery with a brand new one and reset the system. I used to be furious. $518 for nothing. They reassured me the difficulty was completely mounted now regardless of by no means fixing P0C04. It promptly died once more on the freeway the very subsequent day.

Now they’re simply contacting me right now to tell me they assume it’s associated to the transmission and that it WILL NOT be lined if it’s mechanical in nature as a substitute {of electrical}.

This feels like whole BS. I’ve contacted GM a number of instances, however all of them faux to know nothing in regards to the Voltec guarantee and simply give me the runaround. Each. Single. Time.

I assumed the Voltec guarantee lined the hybrid powertrain? Or is there any reality within the dealership’s assertion that solely transmission problems with {an electrical} nature are lined?
